You will spend the first 5 days undertaking 20 hours of Bahasa Indonesia beginner language training combined with cultural activities with the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation IALF. You will undertake four hours of language class each morning, and in the afternoons you will participate in cultural activities. This week you will be with a homestay family in Denpasar, giving you opportunity to practice your skills and immerse yourself in the day to day life of the Balinese.
Spend a further 7 days undertaking a customised program of learning activities including site visits to social enterprises to case study business models, and service learning exchange projects where we work to build the capability and capacity of the local community. Service learning projects are a rewarding part of the program.
Spend time at the Green School immersed in an experiential and innovative program of activities focused on sustainability principles and practice as it relates to enterprise, education and community.
Move beyond the walls of a traditional classroom and engage
in formal, guided, authentic, real-world experiences that allow you to deepen your knowledge. Experiences are mapped to discipline knowledge outcomes on the themes of innovation, leadership and sustainability.
Service Learning engages you in community volunteer and service activities using teaching and reflection to nurture a desire to positively impact the lives of others, to build on corporate social responsibility programs, encourage community-mindedness and empathy.
Assessment & Reflection
We ask you to reflect and make meaning from your experiences, and action plan. What did you learn? How did it change you? What are you going to do now? Completion of assessment tasks will enable the award of a statement of attainment in your management and leadership diploma.
Leadership is a personal journey resulting in the skills that students need to positively and ethically influence and mobilise others in life and in the workplace. We equip students with knowledge and skills to affect individuals, teams, organisations, and their broader community.
20 hours of beginner Bahasa Indonesia study will have you communicating with the locals quickly. The program follows a theme-based syllabus with tasks designed to encourage you to use your newly-acquired language in real-life and work-related communication.
Wellness & Mindfulness
We integrate the physical, spiritual, environmental, emotional, intellectual, and social/interpersonal well-being of participants to help them live, learn, and work effectively. It includes self awareness, humility, independence, sense of wonderment and openness to new ideas and experiences.
